One of the biggest tournaments on the English junior squash circuit gets under way tomorrow in Nottingham, featuring more than 250 of England’s best young players.
The prestigious three-day MB Nottingham English Junior Championships, running for the 14th time, will be staged at the University of Nottingham and at Nottingham Squash Club - with titles up for grabs across eleven age categories, from Mixed Under 9s to Girls and Boys Under 19s.
The focus of tomorrow’s first-day play at the university will be the qualifying rounds - to be held for all but the U9 events. Winners then join the main draws that begin at both venues Saturday morning, when the top seeds enter the competition.
Among those awaiting the successful qualifiers at the weekend will be several seeded players who have topped the podium in recent years.
