Weybridge to host British National Squash Championships in August

The British Nationals Squash Championships will return to St George’s Hill Lawn Tennis Club in Weybridge between 14-18 August, with the best of British squash talent battling for the prestigious men’s and women’s titles.

Last year’s championships saw men’s top seeds Mohamed ElShorbagy edge Joel Makin in a hotly contested 53-minute battle. Meanwhile, Jasmine Hutton retained the women’s title on the all-glass show court in Weybridge, Surrey.

The defending champions are expected to return this year as they aim to clinch a hat-trick. World no.7 Gina Kennedy, former champions Sarah-Jane Perry, and Welsh pair Joel Makin and Tesni Evans are also likely to be in contention. Meanwhile, Greg Lobban will attempt to become the first Scot in 20 years to lift the trophy.

Tickets will go on sale on Thursday 20th June and squash fans can register their interest here.

The Championships will also be shown live on SQUASHTV.
