England squad named for the 2024 European U19 Championships

England Squash has announced its squad for the U19 European Championships.
England’s finest youngsters will be chasing a thirteenth consecutive European U19 Team Championships title after England Squash announced its five-strong squad for this month’s tournament, to be held from 23-31 March in Romania.

After securing triple gold at last year’s team and individual events, England will be gunning for glory again, with defending champion Jonah Bryant and England no.1 Amelie Haworth ready to lead the charge.

Completing the formidable lineup is former British Junior Open champion Abd-Allah Eissa, three-time English national junior champion Mariam Eissa, and German Junior Open champion Yusuf Sheikh.

Joining the team players for the individual event are 2023 GU17 British Junior champion Emily Coulcher-Porter and debutants Bailey Malik, the 2023 British Junior bronze medallist and Pontefract Gold winner Olivia Owens.

Commenting on the squad selection, Tim Vail, England Development Head Coach, said:

“We’re really looking forward to the European Championships this year. Featuring the current boys’ individual champion and girls’ runner up in the squad, we’re hopeful of repeating the victories of last year.

"We’ve all been working hard at squads and tournaments to improve in certain areas and hope this will come through in the championships.”

Lucy Townley, England Squash’s Junior Talent Pathway Manager, said:

“We’ve been really impressed with the level of skill and commitment shown by our players across the junior pathway this year. The players in this year’s European squad have made some excellent progress at a number of major tournaments.

"All of the England Squash team are excited to see how the squad gets on in Bucharest as we look to chase further podium success.”
