English Under 11 Festival

The Under 11 Festival returns to Manchester this April as more than 100 children compete for the prestigious girls and boys team title. The one-day festival will be staged on 8th April at the National Squash Centre, home of the National Squash Championships.

Please note this will be an extremely busy day and timings have to be adhered to and would appreciate the co-operation of team managers. Please be advised there are no allocated courts available for reserve matches. Click here for the the team entries.

Festival rules
  • All players must be under 11 on the 8th April 2017.
  • Single dot black balls will be used.
  • Approved eyewear must be worn at all times on court.
Festival format
  • The warm up (knock up time) will be 2 minutes (1 minute each side), rather than the traditional 5 minutes.
  • Matches will be best of three. PAR to 11 no setting.
  • String order of play 3-1-2.
  • Stage One: round robin.
  • Stage Two: playing for places based on a monrad system or round robin.
  • Number of games won (player v player) and 3 bonus points for the team winning the tie (county v county).
  • Stage Two will consist of teams playing for final finishing positions.
Additional information
  • Water bottles will be provided for all competing players.
  • The presentation will be made after the completion of all matches.
  • Winners and runners up are expected to remain for the presentation.
Referees

There will be no referees attending. Counties will have to referee matches. Players/team managers from each county must share the responsibility for refereeing.

All parking for the Championships will be at the Etihad Campus (formerly known as Sportcity) in the Blue Car Parks. The Blue Car Parks are accessed via Gate 2 off Alan Turning Way, and are approximately a five minute walk from the National Squash Centre. View map >

The postcode to use for the Blue Car Parks is M11 3DU. Please note that this is a new postcode so may not be recognised by older sat navs and isn’t yet recognised by Google Maps.

Getting there by public transport

By tram: the National Squash Centre is located next to the Etihad Campus tram stop on the direct line from Manchester Piccadilly.
By bus: the closest bus stop is Ashton New Rd/Etihad Stadium which is served by the number 216, 231 and 237 bus.
