England announce squad for the 2024 Five Nations

England Squash has announced a formidable line-up for this year’s Five Nations Team Championships, which takes place in Cardiff from 5-7 April.

The U13 and U15 defending champions will be hungry to get their hands on a fifth consecutive title and are likely to face stern tests from Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and France.

11-year-old Oscar Brown – current Warwick Gold champion and English Junior Championships runner-up – is the youngest player to feature in the U13 squad and will be joined by current English Junior champions Alex Koa-Wing and Esther Chak.

Completing the compelling line-up is Chichester Silver winner Nadiya Ismail and Euan Thompson – who finished runner-up at the Pontefract Gold and third at the English Junior Championships.

Four of the five-strong U13 squad are set to make their England debuts at the event; only Esther Chak has previously competed at international level.

The U15 side features English Junior champion Harriet Broadbridge and Bucks Silver winner Ameerah Ismail, as well as British Junior champion Luke McBride. Joining them is British Junior and English Junior runner-up Gabriel Chak, plus Ali Khalil who finished third at both the British Junior and English Junior Championships.

Commenting on the squad, England Potential Head Coach Adam Fuller said:

“It’s been fantastic to see the amount of growth shown by this group of promising young players at England Potential squads this season. They’re all incredibly committed and determined to develop, and I’m excited to see how they progress in Cardiff.”

England Squash Junior Talent Pathway Manager Lucy Townley added:

“The Five Nations offers players an exciting first step on the national representation ladder in our pathway and will see some of the squad pull on the England shirt for the first time. They’ve all performed extremely well at competitions and in squads this season and thoroughly deserve this opportunity to represent their country. We wish them the very best of luck.”
